Biography
AS A SENIOR IN 2002: Saw action in eight contests... saw action against Stanford... sprained left ankle during practice on Sept. 2 and did not travel to ND Classic... returned to action against Oklahoma... also played against Montana, San Jose State and Pacific... started against Gonzaga on senior night and played all 90 minutes... played in NCAA Tournament first round against Creighton, seeing time in the second half.
AS A JUNIOR IN 2001: Redshirted the season... had surgery on left Achilles in October.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2000: Saw action in 14 contests... started in seven straight matches, all against ranked opponents... posted five shots on the year.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 1999: Played at University of California at San Diego, starting in all 22 matches... a key component for the Tritons, leading the school to a 19-1-1 record and its fourth NCAA Division III championship in the past five years... played primarily on defense... finished inaugural season scoring seven goals and earning four assists... three of those assists were in the NCAA Division III Tournament... scored the match's only goal in an NCAA quarterfinal victory against Trinity (Texas)... recorded five post-season points, leading the team... maintained a 3.787 GPA and was named to the Provost's Honor Roll.
OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT TEAM EXPERIENCE: Selected to the Cal North U-18 Olympic Development Team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Jason Wirtz at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, Calif... helped guide Live Oak to three consecutive Monterey Bay League championships... Live Oak also captured the Central Coast Section championship in 1997 and was a semifinalist at the 1999 CCS championship... earned team MVP honors as a junior and league MVP honors as a senior... also played tennis... played four years with the DeAnza Magic club team under coaches Shane Saulus and Ralf Cebrian, helping the team to an appearance in the 1999 Northern California State Cup, and three consecutive semi-finalist titles in the State Cup... captained the squad to the championship of the Kusatsu Soccer Tournament in Japan... also played with the Silicon Valley Red Devils semi-pro team... graduated with a 4.18 GPA.
PERSONAL: Born June 4, 1981 in San Jose, Calif... daughter of George and Reiko Borst... majoring in business finance with a Japanese Studies minor.
