AS A JUNIOR (2024): Played in all 27 matches in her third season with the Broncos ... Was second on the team with 80 blocks and fourth on the team with 179 kills ... Added 36 digs and five service aces ...  tied a career high seven blocks vs. Notre Dame (8/31) and had a season high 16 kills vs. Southern Utah (9/13) ... Earned a spot on the Santa Clara/SJSU Invitational All-Tournament team and All-WCC Honorable Mention recognition.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2023): Played in 26 matches as a sophomore with 238 kills, 110 digs, and 43 blocks on the season … Season-high 16 kills against Air Force (9/8) … Season-high 10 digs vs. Notre Dame (9/2) which proved to be her third career double-double with her 14 kills … Recorded 11 matches with double-digit kills and averaged 2.51 kills per set.

AS A FRESHMAN (2022): Earned her first career start in the Broncos’ second home match of the season (vs. Troy, 8/27) which was just the beginning for the young star … Had five consecutive matches of 10 or more kills from Sept. 11-23, a streak that began in only the second start of her career … Career-high 25 kills at Gonzaga (11/10) … Recorded her first career double-double at Saint Mary’s (11/22) with 14 kills and 11 digs and followed up the next game with her second double-double at Portland State (12/2) as she tallied 15 kills and 10 digs … These performances earned her a spot on the All-WCC Freshman Team.

HIGH SCHOOL: She graduated from Hutchinson School in Memphis, Tennessee, where she spent four years on the varsity volleyball team ... Leading by example, she served as team captain in 2020 and 2021 ... Her impressive career included over 1,000 kills ... She was named Outstanding Athlete in 2017 and earned All-Region honors in 2019 and 2020 ... Additionally, she was named team MVP in 2018 ... Outside of sports, she was involved the Library Advisory club, Chinese Club, Science Honor Society, Chinese Honor Society and the National Honor Society.

GET TO KNOW LAYLA:  In 2022, she was honored with the USA Volleyball Finals All Tournament Team Award for club ... In 2021, she was named an AVCA All-American, further highlighting her talent and skill ... Her consistent excellence was recognized by her inclusion in the AVCA Phenom list in 2018, 2019, and 2020, as well as her selection for the 2020 Under Armor All-American team ... Additionally, she received the prestigious AAU MVP Award in 2018, cementing her reputation as a top-tier player ... Beyond her own achievements, her family has a rich athletic background, as her father, Eric Truitt, played football at Ole Miss.
