LMU Completes Weekend Sweep of Softball

LOS ANGELES – In the series finale, Santa Clara softball lost to LMU 6-0 Sunday morning on the road.

The game was scoreless through two and a half innings but LMU (25-21-1, 8-1) put up three in the third and three more in the fourth to take control of the game.

Molly Grumbo did the majority of the damage, going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and four RBIs. Delanie Wisz and Brooke Christensen also added RBIs with leadoff hitter Sabrina Tebou scoring two runs.

Ashleigh Bandimere (18-10) picked up the win in 6 innings. She allowed four hits and a walk while striking out five.

Micaela Vierra (3-10) started for Santa Clara (6-33, 1-8) and got the loss in 3 innings. She allowed three runs on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Four different Broncos collected a hit with Eleni Spirakis and Lauren Schiek both hitting doubles and Schiek adding a walk.

UP NEXT
The Broncos head to Stockton to take on Pacific in a doubleheader Saturday at noon and 2 p.m.
