Women's Tennis Downed by Arizona 6-1 on Saturday

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson native Maddie Pothoff was triumphant in her return home but Santa Clara women's tennis lost to Arizona 6-1 on Saturday in a nonconference tilt.  
 
Pothoff defeated Kirsten Prelle 6-3, 6-1 on court one but the team outcome was already decided by then as the two teams elected to play it out.  
 
Arizona (5-2) picked up the doubles point when Khim Iglupas and Gitte Heynemans defeated Caitlyn Franklin and another Tucson native, Jamie Schroer, 6-3 on court three.  
 
The Wildcats followed up with singles victories on courts five and six before Talya Zandberg's match-clincher over Madison Clarke 6-3, 6-2 on court two.
