Broncos Look To Carry Win Streak Into WWPA Championships

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's water polo, most recently ranked 16th nationally after closing out the regular season by winning their final three home games, is preparing for the Western Water Polo Association Championships, which will take place next weekend from Nov. 18-20 in Los Angeles. The Broncos, who finished with a 4-4 mark in conference play, will be the No. 4 seed in the tournament, and will take on fifth-seeded Air Force in the opening round.

NOTES
• Santa Clara is ranked 16th in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association poll, their second-straight week in the position. 
• The Broncos finished the year on a hot streak, winning their last three games and also taking five of their last six games to close out the regular season. 
• Four Broncos were named All-WWPA. Ford Eldredge was a second team pick while Dominick Kirk and Zach Fales earned a spot on the honorable mention team. Reese Jenican was also named to the All-Freshman Team. 
• The Broncos celebrated their seniors Chase Zamborelli, Caedmon Fisher, Nicky Fontes, Ford Eldredge, Dominick Kirk and Matt Peterson prior to the start of their last home game, which was against Fresno Pacific. 
Ford Eldredge was recently named the WWPA Player of the Week after leading Santa Clara to two wins over Air Force and Fresno Pacific. He tallied six goals, three assists, and two steals over the two games. Eldredge scored a career-high five goals in the win over Air Force.
• Eldredge is the second Bronco to win the WWPA Player of the Week honors this year. Chase Raisin previously won the award for his performance during the week of October 13th. 
Zach Fales leads the team with 38 goals, Dominick Kirk leading the team with 39 assists, and Chase Raisin was the team-leader in steals with 28. 
Chase Zamborelli finished off the regular season with 207 blocks.
