SAN JOSE, Calif. - Santa Clara beach volleyball dropped two close matches on Saturday, losing 3-2 to Concordia University Irvine and to San José State by the same score at the Spartan Beach Volleyball Courts. 

Against Concordia (6-0), the match was knotted at 1-all after the No. 5 tandem of Casey Campbell and Alexia Gallegos defeated Nicole Miller andLauren Clifton 24-22, 21-19, but the Eagles won the next two matches including the clincher by Hailee Ryan and Sara Ostojic over Jordan Bennett andf Nicole Robison 21-18, 21-12 at No. 2.  

In the second match of the afternoon, host San José State (2-2) took the first three matches to earn the victory with the clincher coming at No. 3 Madeline Boerstra and Chloe Culver over Sophia Tulino and Claire Doud 21-16, 21-17.  

Alexia Inman and Michelle Shaffer picked up wins in both matches for Santa Clara (2-2).
