SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Four members of the Santa Clara University beach volleyball team earned five total all-West Coast Conference awards Tuesday, highlighted by
Avery Cukjati and
Sadie Snipes landing on the all-WCC first team, as announced by the conference office.
Â
Cukjati was also named to the all-freshman team on top of being named first team all-WCC, marking the sixth year in a row Santa Clara has had at least one athlete named to the all-freshman team. Snipes earned her second consecutive all-WCC award and third overall, landing on the first team in 2026 after being named to both the second team and all-freshman team in 2025.
Sammy Wood was named to the all-WCC second team, as was
Alexandra Urbina for the second straight year.
Â
Cukjati had 22 wins in 2026, playing entirely at the top-two pairs spots for the Broncos. She went 14-10 at the No. 1 pairs and 8-8 at No. 2. She went 4-2 last week at the WCC Championship Tournament, helping lead the Broncos to the title match for the second consecutive year.
Â
Snipes played at the No. 1 spot for Santa Clara all year long, going 21-17. She teamed with fellow all-WCC honoree Wood at the No. 1 pair at last week's WCC Championship Tournament, going 4-1 including a forfeit victory over No. 7-ranked and top-seed LMU on day one. Snipes paired with Cukjati nearly all season long at the top pairs spot, going 13-10 with her.
Â
Urbina collected an impressive 27 wins in 2026, capped by an undefeated, 4-0 run on the last day of the WCC Championship Tournament last week. She went 22-10 at the No. 4 pairs and 5-3 at No. 3. Urbina, along with her partner
Ciara Cantlen, helped lead the Broncos into the WCC title match on Saturday for second straight year, even winning their match versus No. 7-ranked and top-seeded LMU in come-from-behind fashion. Urbina and Cantlen were named the WCC Pair of the Week on March 9 after earning wins over ranked opponents UAB (No. 24 in the TruVolley rankings) and No. 14 Stetson at the Long Beach State Invitational.
Â
Wood was also a 20-match winner for Santa Clara in 2026, going 20-19 with appearances across all three of the top pairs spots. She played at the No. 1 pairs at the WCC Championship Tournament, going 4-2 there with Snipes, including a forfeit win over top-seed and No. 7-ranked LMU on the tournament's first day. She went 8-7 overall at the 1s, 10-9 at the 2s and 2-3 at the 3s during the season.
Â
Santa Clara's two first team honorees ties the program's most in a year with 2016 and 2022, when it also had two. The team has had at least one all-WCC second team recognition in six consecutive years, with multiple accolades in four of those seasons.
