Box Score SANTA CLARA, Calif. – It was a busy day for No. 13 Santa Clara women's soccer. In a pregame ceremony the team's nine seniors were honored as part of Senior Day and at halftime Bronco alum Julie Ertz was in attendance to see her jersey honored along with the other program greats. The Broncos sent everyone home happy with a 2-0 win over LMU.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The scoring got started for Santa Clara (11-3-2, 4-1 WCC) in the 16th minute. A rocket of a shot from Sally Menti was saved but not corralled and Farrah Walters was there to knock in the rebound.
• The second goal came in the 66th. Holly Furphy passed to Alex Klos who sent a beautiful ball into the six-yard box that Jordyn Crosby headed inside the near post.
• All eight healthy seniors saw time, including goalkeeper Kylie Foutch who played the final minutes as a field player.

 
NOTABLE NUMBERS:

• The Broncos were on the front foot almost the entire match. They ended up firing off 21 shots and putting nine on frame while the Lions (6-8-2, 0-3-2 WCC) managed just two and one on target.
• Santa Clara earned 12 corner kicks and surrendered none.
• JJ Hoover did a solid job in net for LMU, collecting seven saves. Marlee Nicolos made one.
