FAIRFAX, Calif. - Freshman J.P. Odland was in the 60s in both rounds of play on day one at the Alister MacKenzie Invite, turning in a 68 and a 69 for a 5-under 137 tally to tie for 18th. Santa Clara finished the day in 12th at 6-under 284-278--562. 
 

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:

• Odland was spotless in the opening round, turning in a bogey-free card with a trio of birdies. He followed with 2-under 69 in the second round, highlighted by back-to-back eagles on the par-5 15th and par-4 16th. 
• Calder Overfelt tallied the lowest round of the day for the Broncos. After carding a 1-over 73 in the opening round, the sophomore rolled in five birdie putts in the second round for a 4-under 67. The tally shot him 28 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 38th. 
• As a whole, Santa Clara made a great improvement from round one to two. Their 6-under 278 was tied for the sixth-best score of the round. 
• Jeffrey Kwak and Will Celiberti are tied for 53rd at 1-over 143. Joey Hayden climbed eight spots in the second round with an even par 71 and is tied with Cameron Kaiser, playing as an individual, for 58th at 2-over 144. 

NOTABLE NUMBERS:

• The Broncos turned in three total eagles on the day. Odland had a pair while Kwak also took advantage of the par-5 15th.
