STANFORD, Calif. - Santa Clara men's golf senior
Calder Overfelt is tied for ninth after the first 18 holes of play at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford after carding a 3-under 67 at the par 70 6,742-yard Stanford Golf Course on Thursday. He is one of just 41 golfers out of the field of 160 to finish the day under par.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Overfelt's day included a pair of birdies and an eagle on the par-5 No. 7 hole.
- Santa Clara shot 14-over 294 to finish the day in 27th among the loaded 30-team field that features 15 teams in the top 50 of the latest Scoreboard rankings.
- J.P. Odland and Matt Robles shot 3-over 73 to tie for 91st.
- Host No. 23 Stanford holds a one-stroke lead over No. 31 Long Beach State at 11-under 269.
- San Diego State's Harry Takis, ranked the No. 4 player in the country, leads the field at 6-under 64.
