BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 8 Santa Clara women's soccer battled to a scoreless draw at Cal on Thursday afternoon. The Broncos held the edge in possession in the attacking third and created the more dangerous chances but couldn't find the back of the net.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• One of the Broncos (6-0-1) best chances came in the first minutes when Mailin Orozco sent a shot far post but it went just wide.
• Santa Clara managed to put pressure on the Bears (2-2-1) defense in the second half with multiple balls passing right in front of the goal face.

 
NOTABLE NUMBERS:

• Santa Clara held the edge in shots 8-3, including xxx in the second half. The Broncos put two of their shots on target while Cal put one.
• The Broncos also had a 5-2 advantage in corners, where they created some of their most dangerous opportunities.
• Marlee Nicolos made one save in her second consecutive shutout. Teagan Wy had two saves.
