SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Lance Muret, the newest Volunteer Assistant Coach for Santa Clara Beach Volleyball, has been recognized by Volleyball Magazine, earning a spot on the College Coaching Hotshot list.
This list acknowledges outstanding coaches in NCAA DI women's, NCAA DI-II men, and NCAA collegiate beach programs. Muret's spot on the list is a well-deserved recognition of his dedication and impact on beach volleyball.
"I appreciate the nomination and the chance to be recognized," said Muret, expressing gratitude for this acknowledgment.
With a background that includes coaching under the 2021 AVCA Beach Coach of the Year and 2023 AVP Coach of the Year, Mike Placek at WAVE, Muret has coached AVP qualifier teams and former NCAA beach volleyball champions.
Beyond his coaching achievements, Muret's connection to beach volleyball is a family affair. He comes from a family immersed in the sport, with his older sister Megan Muret winning two NCAA beach titles at UCLA, one of which was with Jeff Alzina on the coaching staff.
Head Coach Alzina said, "Lance will have a long and distinguished coaching career in our sport, and we are very fortunate to have him on staff this year. His contagious optimism and high energy level creates a fun atmosphere of learning and breeds tangible success."
Muret has shared his excitement to see Bronco Beach evolve and succeed this year and for those to come.
