SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis player Alexander Watanabe Eriksson won the B flight singles championship at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational on Sunday, returning to the campus where his collegiate career started. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Watanabe Eriksson defeated Baastian Westrate of Cal Poly 6-3, 6-4 for his fourth straight singles victory over the three day tournament to capture his second fall tournament title of his career.  Last season, he took home the B flight singles title at the UC Davis Aggies Invitational.  
• The Stockholm, Sweden native played at UCSB during his freshman season in 2022-23 before transferring to Santa Clara. 
• In doubles, Watanabe Eriksson partnered with Luca Lemaitre and fell 8-4 to UCSB's Conrad Brown and Dominique Rolland in the B flight finals.   

NEXT UP:

• The Broncos play at the ITA Regional Championships in Seattle starting Thursday, Oct. 17.
