SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara men's tennis team wrapped up the fall season with five more wins at the Pacific Invitational on Sunday led by Tiago Boschmans and Payton Jim On picking up wins in both their doubles and singles matches. The Broncos mostly faced players from Pacific in doubles and Sacramento in singles.
The Pacific Invitational is a hidden dual play format that includes singles against one team and doubles against a different team each day. Teams will lineup and play similar to a team dual match like in the spring but there is no team scoring, only individual wins and losses.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Over the course of the three day tournament, Santa Clara racked up 17 total victories - seven on Friday and five each over the weekend. Twelve of the wins came in singles action and five in doubles.
- On Sunday, Tiago Boschmans and Payton Jim On teamed up for the lone doubles match win for the Broncos, beating Vraj Patel of Pacific and Nikola Plavsic of Wahington, 6-1.
- In singles, Boschmans beat Miles Whitehead of Sacramento State 6-1, 6-1, while Jim On took care of Liam Carpenter from Saint Mary's, 6-4, 6-2.
- Luca Bluett and Luca Lemaitre also won their singles matches, both against Sacramento State players.

- The Broncos next play in the spring season opener against Sacramento State on Jan. 16, 2025 at the Degheri Tennis Center.
