DAVIS, Calif. – Christian Lerby, the No. 42-ranked ITA singles player, delivered with a 3-all match clinching victory for Santa Clara men's tennis over UC Davis on Saturday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Playing atop the singles lineup as he has all year, Lerby defeated Constantinos Djakouris 6-3, 6-4 to secure the Broncos victory. 
• Santa Clara (3-1) got all their team points in singles with victories from Guillaume Dalmasso, Luca Lemaitre and Alexander Watanabe Eriksson. 
• Lerby and Dalmasso teamed up for the lone doubles victory for the Broncos defeating Max Fardanesh/Lucas Bollinger 6-1 on court one.
• The Broncos would lose the doubles point in a tight battle.  After splitting the first two doubles matches, the doubles point came down to court three between Brett Brinkman/Antreas Djakouris and Sebastian Buxman/Alexander W Eriksson, with the Aggies duo edging out a 7-6 (8-6) victory. 
• UC Davis (2-4) took the first singles match to put the Broncos behind by two team points before they turned it around winning four of the next five singles matches, capped by Lerby's clincher. 

• The Broncos return to Degheri Tennis Center to host UC Irvine on Sunday at noon.
