BREMERTON, Wash. - Santa Clara men's golf wrapped up their time at the 2024 WCC Men's Golf Championship on Saturday by turning in a 1-over 289 in the final round of stroke play at the par 72, 7,101-yard Olympic Course at Gold Mountain. The Broncos finished the event in sixth place at 4-over 289-290-289--868. The top four teams at the end of today's round qualified for Sunday's championship round, which will be a head-to-head match play to determine the 2024 WCC Champion.
San Diego (833), Pepperdine (842), LMU (843) and Saint Mary's (847) maintained their top four status from day one to punch their tickets to Sunday's championship round.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Four of Santa Clara's five individuals finished just one shot apart.
- Muzzy Donohue claimed the Broncos' top individual spot at 22nd with a 54-hole total of 1-over 69-76-72--217.
- J.P. Odland was right behind him in 23rd at 2-over 218 while Calder Overfelt and Jeffrey Kwak tied each other for 24th at 3-over 219.
- Overfelt finished his time in the Evergreen State on a high note with a 1-under 71 in the final round. He tallied four birdies on the day and climbed seven spots in the final standings.
- Nolan Forsman rounded out the lineup with a tie for 32nd at 5-over 221.
