SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Santa Clara softball pitcher Hannah Edwards was named West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week after throwing a pair of complete game victories to lead the Broncos to a series win over Saint Mary's over the weekend.

The redshirt junior went the full seven innings in the series opener on Friday and in Sunday's series finale, winning both games by a 2-1 margin.  In the series, Edwards pitched 15 2/3 innings over three appearances, gave up 12 hits, three runs, struck out six and walked just one batter.

In the series opener, Edwards threw 87 pitches, scattering four hits, one run, striking out two without issuing a walk.  The Broncos scored a run in the fifth and the sixth on Taryn Clements' RBI single to pick up the 2-1 victory. 

In Sunday's series finale, the right-handed hurler earned her 11th win of the season holding the Gaels to one run on five hits, a walk and four strikeouts as Abigail Charpentier hit a walk-off RBI single in the home half of the seventh to secure the series win. 

This was the first WCC weekly recognition for Edwards.

The Broncos next play this weekend against Pacific on the road.
