UTRECHT, Netherlands – Santa Clara softball players Hannah Edwards and Morgan Salmon took home the silver medal as part of the Great Britain Senior Women's National Softball Team at the Women's Softball European Championship 2024. 
 
Team Great Britain took down defending champions Netherlands 3-1 in the semifinal game before falling to Italy 4-0 in the finals.  Italy finished undefeated to claim their 13^th gold medal at the continental championships.
 
A total of 22 teams participated in the European Championship as Great Britain finished with a 7-2 record. 
 
Edwards started in the circle in two games, had an 1-0 record with a 1.75 ERA and a complete game during Team Great Britain's run.  Salmon slugged a home run and posted a .355 on-base percentage. 
 
Earlier in the summer, Salmon won a bronze medal at the U22 European Softball Championships as part of the Great Britain U22 Women's Fastpitch Softball team.
