DAVIS, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis had a strong showing on the first day of the UC Davis Aggies Fall Invitational on Friday with six singles and five doubles wins including a pair of doubles teams advancing to the semifinal rounds on Saturday. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Six Broncos won their opening round singles matches across four different flights to advance to the quarterfinal rounds. 
• Sophomore Lukas Maskow won in the white flight, freshmen Valentin Faure and Luca Bluett each were victorious in their blue flight matches, sophomore Tiago Boschmans was triumphant in the gold flight and freshmen Mahir Khurana and Payton Jim On came up on top in their grey flight contests.  
• In doubles, Luca Lemaitre and Luca Bluett won twice to advance to the semifinals of the blue flight.  In the quarterfinals, they defeated the Cal Poly tandem of Raz Haviv and Sean Kamyshev 8-3. 
• Tiago Boschmans and Valentin Faure advanced to the semis of the white flight defeating Ellison Greco and Liam Carpenter of Saint Mary's 8-2.
