Meva Schmit Earns 2025-26 Australasia and CLPGA Tour Cards

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Former Santa Clara women's golfer Meva Schmit has earned two professional tour cards for the 2025-26 season for the China LPGA Tour and the WPGA Tour of Australasia. Schmit is the first Bronco under head coach Krystal Kelly to play professionally.

"Turning a pro was a surprise even to me," Schmit said. "During our spring season at Santa Clara, I realized just how much I love this game and decided to take the next step. After graduation, I moved back home to prepare for China LPGA Q-School, and I'm proud to say that I earned full status on tour along with status on the WPGA Australasia Tour. Thank you Santa Clara for showing me how much this game truly means to me."

The China LPGA Tour was founded in 2008 and is organized by the China Ladies Professional Golfers' Associaton (CLPGA). The WPGA Tour Australasia, established in 1972, is one of nine major international women's golf tours recognized by the Rolex World Rankings, and is operated primarily out of Australia.

A product of Bali, Indonesia, Schmit wrapped up her collegiate career at Santa Clara where she played her final year of eligibility in 2023-24 after a four-year run at Kennesaw State. In her lone season with the Broncos, she earned All-WCC honors after tallying the second-lowest stroke average on the team (74.90) and tying for seventh at the WCC Championship. Schmit played in all 10 events and finished in the top-20 of the field in five of those appearances.

Schmit earned her card status by competing in a pair of qualifying tournaments over the last few weeks. She tied for 29th at the 2025 WPGA Qualifying Tournament in late December and followed up with a tie for 24th at the CLPG Qualifying Tournament in China in mid-January.

"I'm incredibly proud of Meva," said Kelly. "It was an absolute pleasure coaching her last year. We had numerous conversations about playing professional golf over there the last year and I'm so happy she is following her dreams. Her game is very consistent and she has one of the best short games that I have ever seen. I know she will accomplish great things both on and off the course throughout her professional career. Dream big!"
