SPOKANE, Wash. - Santa Clara women's golf is off to a great start to the 2025 fall season thanks to a big opening day at the Kalispel Invitational. The Broncos opened the day with a 7-over 295 in the opening round, but rallied as a unit for their second turn at the par 72 Kalispel Golf Course to the tune of a 4-under 284. The score ranks as the seventh-best round in program history and propelled the Broncos (3-over 579) to a six-stroke lead over second place Gonzaga (9-over 585).
Four of the five Broncos' lineup sit inside the top-10 of the individual standings with
Kelsey Kim leading the way in sole possession of second place at 2-under 72-70--142 and
Alexa Pineda right on her heels at 1-under 74-69--143 in a tie for third.
Audrey Brust and
Chloe Lam are tied for ninth at 3-over 147.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Broncos' 579 total is the eighth-best 36-hole score to par in program history.
- Pineda's second round 3-under 69 is tied for her best career-round and carried her nine spots up the leader board.
- Santa Clara tallied 18 total birdies in the second round. Pineda led the way with five while Kim and Lam rolled in four each.
- The Broncos' 4-under second round was the best team score of the day for any team in the 14-team field, and was the lone sub-par round on the day.
- Gonzaga's Grace Lee holds the individual lead with a four-stroke advantage over Kim at 6-under 138.
