Women's Soccer Ties on the Road at Gonzaga

SPOKANE, Wash. – Santa Clara women's soccer picked up a 1-1 tie at Gonzaga on Wednesday night. The Broncos (6-6-3, 2-2-3 WCC) fell behind early but were able to even things up with the Bulldogs (5-8-2, 3-2-2 WCC) late in the second half and leave Spokane with the point.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Gonzaga struck first in the 13th minute. A long cross from Samantha Snorksy went to Amelia Severn who headed it back to Annie Boyden near the spot. Boyden settled the ball and knocked it into the back of the net.
  • Santa Clara tied things up in the 74th off a corner kick. Mailin Orozco took the corner and placed it right in front of the goal where a deflection off a defender put it in.

NOTABLE NUMBERS:
  • Santa Clara finished the night with an 18-9 advantage in shots while putting four of them on frame.
  • Gonzaga put six of their nine shots on frame in the match.
  • The Broncos drew seven corners and surrendered just one.
  • Ally Harrison made her second straight start in net and collected a career-high five saves.
  • Michaela McCollum had three saves for the Bulldogs.

NEXT UP
  • The Broncos host San Francisco Saturday at 1 p.m. to kickoff a three match homestand.
