SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Fall ball is in full swing and the Santa Clara University baseball team is welcoming back its veteran returners while integrating its batch of talented newcomers. Five new faces have joined the program via the transfer — each bringing college experience from around the country. The Broncos' 2025 group of transfers includes infielder Camden Sos (TCU), right-handed pitcher Hunter Hargett (Incarnate Word), infielder James Bose (LMU), outfielder Bryant Viskovich (San Diego), and first baseman Will Anderson (Ohlone College).
Anderson joins the Broncos from nearby Ohlone College, where he established himself as one of the top players in California's junior college ranks. A two-way standout for the Renegades, he earned multiple All-America honors, a Gold Glove, and the 2025 Coast Conference Player of the Year award while posting a .446 average with 69 RBIs and 39 extra-base hits. The Gilroy native also turned in strong numbers on the mound, going 3–0 with a 2.86 ERA in 13 relief appearances. Before Ohlone, he starred at Christopher High School, where he hit .395 across three varsity seasons and helped lead his team to a CIF Central Coast Section Division V title as a junior (2022).
Bose joins the Broncos after one season at West Coast Conference rival LMU and two standout years at West Valley College in Saratoga. He played in 42 games for the Lions in 2024, highlighted by a go-ahead home run at San Francisco and multi-hit efforts against Portland and UC San Diego. At West Valley, he was a two-time all-conference performer and an ABCA Gold Glove recipient, hitting .382 as a sophomore with 19 doubles, two home runs, and 49 runs scored. A San Jose product, Bose was a two-time first team all-league pick at Leigh High School and helped lead the Longhorns to a CIF Central Coast Section championship as a junior (2021).
Sos comes to Santa Clara after spending two seasons with Power Four program TCU in the Big 12. The Alpine native appeared in 16 games for the Horned Frogs over two years and earned Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors in 2024. He posted a perfect fielding percentage in 19 total chances while seeing time at multiple infield positions. A Granite Hills High School graduate, Sos was a three-time varsity letterwinner and two-time all-league performer who earned all-CIF San Diego Section recognition and was named Petco High School All-Star MVP in 2022.
Viskovich, another local addition, transfers in from San Diego after spending two seasons with the Toreros. He redshirted in 2024 and played in nine games in 2025, recording his first collegiate hit against Columbia. The San Jose native was a mulit-sport student-athlete and four-year varsity baseball starter at Leigh High School. He hit .395 for his prep career, set the school record for triples, and helped capture a CIF Central Coast Section championship. He was also an Area Code Games participant and earned all-league honors while graduating in the top 9% of his class.
Hargett brings years of experience on the mound from multiple levels of college baseball. The right-hander began his career at San Diego State in 2022, made 16 appearances (13 starts) at Yavapai College in 2023, and spent the last two seasons at Incarnate Word. Across two years with Incarnate Word, he made 15 appearances (seven starts), going 2–3 with a 5.09 ERA while striking out 38 in 35 1/3 innings. Before that, he struck out 80 batters in 61 innings at Yavapai in 2023 and began his career at San Diego State in 2022, making eight appearances for the Aztecs.
The Broncos' fall scrimmage schedule began Thursday with a game against Okanagan College out of Canada, defending Canadian College World Series champions and 2024 Canadian College Baseball Conference title winners. Santa Clara's scrimmage schedule resumes Saturday versus Anderson's alma mater, Ohlone College. The Broncos will also scrimmage against West Valley College on Nov. 1. All fall scrimmages are being played at Schott Stadium and entry is free.
