SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the second time this season, Santa Clara men's soccer goalkeeper
Jackson Ozburn has been named West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week following his four save shutout effort at Gonzaga on Saturday.
The Sammamish, Washington native returned to his home state to record his fifth clean sheet of the season in the scoreless draw against the Zags. He turned away one shot in the opening 45 and three more in the back half.
One of the second half saves came in the 82nd minute on Ethan Doud's blast that Ozburn dove to deflect the ball. His four saves are tied for the second most in a game on the season.
On the season, the Bronco senior is third in the conference in both save percentage (.757) and goals-against-average (0.88).
This is the second conference Defensive Player of the Week honor for Ozburn after
winning it back on September 1.
The Broncos next play on Friday hosting Seattle U at 7 p.m. PT.
