Beach Volleyball Signs Two Players for 2026-27 Season

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's beach volleyball team announced today the signing of two new athletes to the 2026-27 roster.
 
Arelie Hershberg l Torrance, Calif. l South HS
 
Hershberg joins the Broncos from Torrance, Calif., where she played three years of indoor volleyball at South High School. In her high school career, she led her indoor volleyball team to the 2023 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) semifinals, and was a three time first team All-Pioneer league selection. In 2025, she was the varsity team most valuable player (MVP), and the 2025 Beiflower tournament MVP.
 
Hershberg also played club beach volleyball for MBsand. She and her partner finished in third place at the 2024 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Championships, and won the 2024 Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) 17U West Coast Championships. They also finished in fifth place in three separate tournaments at the 2025 Beach Volleyball Clubs of America (BVCA) Pairs Championship, 2025 BVCA Club vs. Club Championships, and the AVP National Championships.
 
Sofie Meissner l Fresno, Calif. l San Joaquin Memorial HS
 
Meissner joins the Broncos from Fresno, Calif., where she played indoor and beach volleyball for San Joaquin Memorial High School. While playing indoor volleyball, Meissner was a two time Indoor Varsity MVP, and was voted the team's best offensive player after amassing over 1,000 kills in her high school career. She led her team to two Championship Montalvo-Calaveras League (CMAC) Championships, and was voted a varsity captain by her teammates.
 
In her beach career, Meissner was an All Tournament first team MVP, and led her team to a second place finish at the 2025 AVP Nationals, and a first place crown at the BVCA West Coast Pairs Championships.
 
Both players will join the Broncos as true freshmen for the 2026-27 season.
