SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's golf added a pair of talented players on Wednesday with the official addition of Tyler Burtnett and Sehee Sim, who will join the program in 2026-27 as freshmen. Head coach
Krystal Kelly made the announcement.
"I'm excited to welcome both Sehee and Tyler to the Bronco Family," Kelly said. "They both bring a wealth of tournament experience and are highly-skilled players. We are excited about their skill sets and what they will bring to this program."
Tyler Burtnett | Southlake, Texas | Southlake Carroll HS
Burtnett joins the Broncos from Southlake, Texas where over 2024 and 2025 she has posted nine top-five finishes in Texas Junior Golf Tour events. Over the summer, she qualified for the 2025 Texas Women's Open Championship after winning the AAT Nike Junior Golf Camps #WHOSNEXT Major by seven shots. In April, she took fifth-place at the AAT: Destination Grapevine April Showcase with a 77-73—150. In 2023, she turned in a pair of tied for third finishes at the Destination Grapevine Jr. Open and Talley Riggins Girls Open.
As a junior, Burtnett was a first team all-state and all-conference honoree, and finished top-10 at the 6A Texas State Championship. She was the UIL District 4 Champion and qualified for the state championship as an individual, as well as with Southlake Carroll as a team.
Sehee Sim | San Diego, Calif. | Torrey Pines HS
Sim joins Santa Clara from San Diego where she has been a standout for Torrey Pines High, as well as turning in outstanding results on the AJGA and other junior events. In 2025, she has posted three wins, two runner-up finishes and two top-10 finishes. In August, she won FCG World Series Global Cup (73-68-70) and in January, she posted consecutive wins at the FCG National Tour Spring Series (68-71) and SCPGA TTC Terra Lago Qualfier (68). She posted three runner-up finishes in February at the FCG National Tour Valley Open (71-73), FCG Western State Cup (72-71-71) and FGC National Tour Temecula Championship (75-77). Sim also placed ninth in stroke play at the Women's Western Junior Championship in June and tied for eighth at the AJGA PGA West Junior Championship.
In 2024, Sim helped Torrey Pines win the CIF California State High School Girls Golf Championship and tied for 12
th individually. She also had a tie for 10
th finish at the Cactus Collegiate Challenge and was 10
th at the Women's Wester Junior Championship.
Sim took fourth place individually at the 2023 CIF State Championship and was third out of 121 golfers at the CIF California SoCal Regional Championship. In May of 2023, she placed 11
th out of the 74-player field at the U.S. Women's Open Qualifier.
Sim been earned back-to-back First Team All-San Diego High School Girls' Golf honors and was named the Player of the Year for Torrey Pines High School Girls' Golf in both 2023 and 2024. In 2023 she was also honored as the CIF New Coastal League Player of the Year.
