MILLBRAE, Calif. - Santa Clara women's golf junior
Kelsey Kim shot 1-over 143 on the opening day of the fourth-annual Silicon Valley Showcase to put herself in a tie for seventh after 36 holes of play at the par 71 Green Hills Country Club. The Broncos shot 23-over 591 as a team to finish the day in sixth.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Kim tallied eight birdies on the day. She shot even par 71 in the first round and was just 1-over in the second round.
- Proud Sriwongngam, playing as an individual, also shot par in the opening round before turning in a 5-over 76 to finish the day tied for 20th at 5-over 147.
- Chloe Lam (148) and Rachael Wang (149) are tied for 25th and 28th, respectively. Lam had the low round of the day for the Broncos with a 1-under 70 opening round.
- Audrey Brust (152) and Amy Im (153) are tied for 40th and 42nd, respectively.
- Cal leads the field at even par 568, four strokes better than second-place Eastern Michigan (572). The Eagles' Baiyok Sukterm leads individually at 6-under 136.
