SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Eight members of the Santa Clara University men's water polo program earned West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention recognition Wednesday, highlighting a roster that delivered strong academic performance alongside key roles in the pool throughout the 2025 season.

Redshirt sophomore
Julien Chow, a business major with a 3.300 GPA, earned the honor after contributing in 14 regular-season games as an important reserve. He scored five goals—two in each of the Broncos' first two outings—and added three drawn exclusions and a steal. Chow also earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Academic "Excellent" honors in 2024.

Sophomore
Riccardo De Simon earned All-Academic Honorable Mention with a 3.409 GPA in economics after a season marked by leadership across multiple statistical categories. He leads the WCC in steals and sprint wins, ranks among league leaders in goals and field blocks, and totaled 89 points with 23 assists and a team-high 43 drawn exclusions. His performance builds on earlier accolades including ACWPC All-American Honorable Mention (2024), All-WCC First Team (2025), and ACWPC All-Academic "Superior" honors (2024).

Charlie Engs, a finance major carrying a 3.384 GPA, collected the academic honor while serving as a regular starter. He posted 33 points with 25 assists, added 22 steals, and drew 17 exclusions. His year included season highs of four assists versus Mount St. Mary's and four steals against No. 19 Harvard. Engs was also an ACWPC All-Academic "Excellent" honoree in 2024.

Henry Engs earned recognition with a 3.260 GPA in business after establishing new career highs across his second season. He ranks third in the WCC with 54 assists and has produced 80 points behind 26 goals and 12 multi-assist outings. Henry also matched his career high with three goals in four games this fall. He was a member of the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with "Bronze" honors for 2024-25.

Reese Jenican, an accounting major with a 3.467 GPA, received All-Academic Honorable Mention following a season in which he anchored Santa Clara at center. He totaled 31 goals, 41 drawn exclusions and 14 steals, delivered 11 multi-goal games, and scored the game-winner against No. 15 Pacific. Jenican also earned WCC Player of the Week honors this season and has appeared on the ACWPC All-Academic lists in both 2023 and 2024.

Harrison Labrosse, a computer science major with a 3.257 GPA, earned the academic nod after making 16 starts and logging more than 500 minutes in goal. He ranks fifth in the WCC with 161 saves and holds the conference's second-best goals-against average at 12.8. Labrosse also posted eight double-digit save efforts, including 15 stops at No. 13 Princeton. His academic history includes WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention in 2024 and ACWPC All-Academic awards in 2023 ("Superior") and 2024 ("Excellent").

Grant Roesch earned All-Academic Honorable Mention with a 3.226 GPA in history after appearing in all 22 regular-season games. He contributed 17 points on six goals and 11 assists, drew a career-best six exclusions and added six steals and five field blocks. Roesch also earned ACWPC All-Academic "Excellent" recognition in 2024.

Thomas Wisdom, a 3.561-GPA economics major, rounded out Santa Clara's honorees. A full-time starter, he reached season career highs across goals (13), assists (10), points (23), steals (13) and field blocks (3). Wisdom opened the year with goals in six straight contests and added five assists and three steals during that stretch. He was also named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team.
