SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference announced the members of the 2025 WCC Men's Golf All-Academic Team on Tuesday and a pair of Broncos were included in the league's annual recognition of student-athletes' work in the classroom. Sophomore
J.P. Odland was named to the 10-man first team while junior
Calder Overfelt was tabbed as honorable mention pick.
Odland, a business major with a 3.454 GPA, earned All-Academic honors for the first time of his Bronco Career. The Tiburon, Calif. product was also a First Team All-WCC honoree following a fantastic season that included carding the third-best scoring average in program history (70.86), posting seven top-20 finishes with five top-10 outings, and two individual titles. He has posted 19 rounds under par to date (tied for third-most in program history) with 15 of those being in the 60s (tied for most in program history with 2010 WCC Player of the Year Scott Travers).
Overfelt was selected as honorable mention for the second-straight year. The communication major has a 3.446 cumulative GPA and also has turned in an outstanding year on the course with six top-20 finishes, 15 rounds under par and eight in the 60s. His top finish of the year came at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational where he tied for 10th at 2-under 214.
This is the second-straight year that multiple Broncos have earned at least honorable mention All-Academic honors and the fifth such time over the last six seasons dating back to 2019.
Santa Clara is preparing for their third-ever trip to an NCAA Regional, having a punched a ticket for the Reno Regional, which is slated for May 12-14 at the Montreux Golf and Country Club.
