Nine Broncos Named to CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team

Nine Santa Clara University student-athletes from five different varsity sports across both genders landed Tuesday on the CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team.
GREENWOOD, Ind. — Nine Santa Clara University student-athletes across five different sports were named to the Academic All-District At-Large Team Tuesday, as announced by College Sports Communicators. The honorees include Broncos student-athletes from men's water polo, women's water polo, men's golf, women's golf, and women's beach volleyball.

The distinguished group features Alvaro Muller Baumgart from men's golf; Ben Kyrillos and Thomas Wisdom from men's water polo; Holland Jackson, Noelle Niederman, and Alexandra Urbina from women's beach volleyball; Audrey Brust from women's golf; and Francesca Moynihan and Libby Slater from women's water polo. All nine Broncos student-athletes had to meet high academic and athletic standards related to their sport, which included carrying a minimum 3.500 cumulative Grade Point Average, and playing in a majority of their team's games/events.

Muller Baumgart, a graduate transfer from UCLA, wrapped up his collegiate career by posting a 3.86 GPA in his lone season with the Broncos. On the course, he was one of the biggest contributors for Santa Clara men's golf and their unprecedented success in 2024-25 that saw them shatter the program's team scoring average record and qualify for an NCAA Regional for just the third time in program history. As one of four players to compete in all 13 events, he turned in the third-best scoring average on the team at 72.13 strokes per round while posting five top-20 finishes. That includes a season-best tie for ninth finish at the 2025 WCC Championships in which he helped the Broncos finish in third place in stroke play.

Kyrillos has a 3.69 GPA in his environmental science major. He was named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention in the fall and has earned "Superior" All-Academic honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches three years in a row. He appeared in all 24 of the Broncos' contests in 2024, scoring seven goals, finishing sixth on the team with 14 assists, tying for fifth with 21 steals, and second on the team with 18 field blocks. He also drew three exclusions. Kyrillos tied his career high with two goals on Senior Day versus Air Force on Nov. 15 and grabbed a career-high three steals versus San Jose State (Sept. 20).

Wisdom carries a 3.58 GPA as an economics major. He appeared in 22 of the Broncos' 24 games in the fall during his first playing season. He scored five goals and tallied five assists for 10 total points, drew five exclusions, swiped three steals and also recorded two field blocks. Wisdom scored his first career goal and notched his first career field block in his first collegiate appearance, putting one in the back of the net versus Fresno Pacific on Opening Day (Sept. 7). Scored again and drew his first career exclusion in his very next game versus Iona (Sept. 13), then scored goals in back-to-back games on Oct. 5 versus UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara. He tallied a season-high three assists, a goal and a drawn exclusion versus Concordia University Irvine on Oct. 11.

Jackson carries a 3.74 GPA while pursuing a master's of science in marketing at Santa Clara. She boasted a 3.69 GPA while doing her undergraduate work at Long Beach State. Jackson played in 35 of 36 matches in her lone season with the Broncos compiling a 14-21 record at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. She finished the season at the No. 1 spot with partner Noelle Niederman, helping lead the team to their best conference finish in program history (second place). She went 3-1 at the West Coast Challenge helping lead the Broncos to a Silver Bracket Championship (March 29). The highlight of her season, however, was a three-set come-from-behind victory over No. 17 Washington with partner Noelle Niederman (March 16).

Niederman has a 3.63 GPA in her mechanical engineering major. She proved to be a consistent starter for the Broncos in 2025, compiling a 13-20 record playing at the No.1, 2, and 3 spots in the lineup, including a 4-1 record in conference play. She finished the season at the No. 1 spot with partner Jackson, helping lead the team to their best conference finish in program history (second place). The highlight of her season was a come-from-behind, three-set victory against No. 17 Washington (March 16). She also led the Broncos to a 3-2 victory over Concordia with her partner Alexandra Urbina (March 7). Niederman was also selected to the all-WCC Academic Team.

Urbina has posted a 3.66 GPA as a finance major. She played in all 36 duals for the Broncos this spring, going 20-16 overall in at the number 1, 2, and 3 spots this season. She put together an outstanding 4-1 record against conference opponents and was instrumental in the Broncos' win over No. 17 Washington in straight sets with her partner Ciara Cantlen (March 16). Urbina proved to be the Broncos' most consistent pairing this season with her partner, Cantlen, at the No. 3 spot, going 14-9 overall including a 4-2 mark in the WCC Championship, helping lead the Broncos to a second-place finish, their best finish in program history. Urbina was also named WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention and the all-WCC second team.

Brust has posted a 3.70 GPA in public health science over three years with the Bronco women's golf program. The junior from Reno, Nev. also earned WCC All-Academic honors this season and is a two-time WCC All-Academic honoree in her career. She finished third on the team in scoring average in 2024-25 (74.52) and led the program with seven rounds under par. In her three seasons with the Broncos, Brust has compiled a scoring average of 72.29 strokes per round - good for fifth-best in program history.

Moynihan completed her career with a 3.73 GPA while earning a degree in finance. She was a three-time recipient of ACWPC All-Academic honors ("Outstanding" twice and "Superior" once in 2023). She was also named to the GCC All-Academic Team three times. Moynihan played in and started all 25 of the Broncos' games this spring, leading the team with 24 assists and also scoring 13 goals for 37 points -- fifth on the team. She swiped eight steals, drew five exclusions and recorded five field blocks as well. The senior scored a career-high four goals -- the first multi-goal game of her career -- in the season opener at Cal State Monterey Bay (Jan. 25). Moynihan had two other multi-goal performances in back-to-back games on the same day, scoring two versus Cal Lutheran and Pomona-Pitzer on Feb. 28 at the Claremont Convergence. She also dished a career-high four assists versus No. 20 San Diego State on April 5 and had multiple assists in seven games.

Slater posted a 3.86 GPA while earning her degree in communication. She's been bestowed ACWPC All-Academic "Outstanding" Honors three times and twice has been placed on the GCC All-Academic team. Slater  started all 25 games last spring at the two-meter position. She was third on the team with 37 goals and second with 31 drawn exclusions. She also had eight steals and six assists. The senior led Santa Clara with a .446 shot percentage and logged 12 multi-goal games, including four with three or more goals. Slater scored a career-high five goals in the Broncos' 14-13 win on the road at Chapman (April 18).
