241 Broncos Earn WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll Recognition

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Santa Clara Athletics saw 241 athletes honored Monday with the West Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, 28 more than a year ago. The 241 athletes honored were the second-highest among all WCC teams behind only Gonzaga's 263.

The Broncos had 63 athletes claim "Gold" honors with cumulative Grade Point Averages between 3.75 and 4.00, an astounding 18 more than in 2023-24. That included five perfect 4.0 GPA's: Mia Curtis of women's basketball, Olivia Schlieman of women's cross country, Ally Reynolds of women's soccer, and Lauren Lietzke and Hailey Newell of women's volleyball.

The 2024-25 Commissioner's honor roll is the 13th consecutive featuring more than 1,000 WCC student-athletes collecting honors for possessing at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. Over 1,600 student-athletes qualified for recognition for the fifth straight year. Santa Clara was one of four WCC schools boasting over 200 honorees.

Only grades earned at WCC institutions are used in calculating the GPA for this award. To be considered for the honor, student-athletes must meet the following requirements:

1) Individuals must have earned a varsity letter (competed in at least one contest) in a sport which the conference determined a champion in the recently completed academic year.
2) The cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 must be based on a 4.0 scale.
3) The individuals must have successfully completed an average of at least 12 graded credit hours (non pass-fail hours) per term.

The conference recognizes those on the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll in three separate categories:

4.00-3.75 - Gold Honors
3.74-3.50 - Silver Honors
3.49-3.00 - Bronze Honors
