SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Two quick goals by No. 18 Texas Tech were too much for Santa Clara women's soccer to overcome in a 2-1 defeat at home Thursday night. The Red Raiders (3-0) scored 19 seconds in and added another less than three minutes later. The Broncos (1-2) got one back early in the second half but couldn't find the equalizer.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Just 19 seconds into the match, Texas Tech jumped out to the early lead. A defensive lapse let a cross by Alana Harry passed the mouth of goal and get to Peyton Parsons who knocked it into the goal.
• The Red Raiders added another in the fourth minute on some quick passing from Kate Leibel and Parsons who found Taylor Zdrojewski for the goal.
• Santa Clara got on the board in the 49th minute to make it a match. Mailin Orozco's shot was saved but the rebound went to Adee Goulden who knocked it in for the goal.

 
NOTABLE NUMBERS:

• Santa Clara attempted 15 shots and put six of them on target. Texas Tech got off 18 shots and put six one goal as well.
• The Broncos drew four corners while surrendering six.
• The timeshare in net continued with Amaris Franco making the start and Ally Reynolds playing the second half. Franco made three saves while Reynolds had one.
