SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Santa Clara University beach volleyball sophomore
Sadie Snipes was named to the all-West Coast Conference Preseason Team, and the Broncos were picked to finish third in a vote by WCC head coaches, as announced by the conference Thursday.
Â
Snipes put together a stellar freshman season for the Broncos in 2025, compiling a 9-13 record while playing in 22 matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. She went 3-3 at the 2025 WCC Championship Tournament with her partner
Sammy Wood, defeating USF twice, as well as Saint Mary's, helping the Broncos to a runner-up finish, their best in program history.
Â
Santa Clara has earned two top-three finishes at the WCC Championship Tournament in the past three seasons, finishing third in 2023 and runner-up in 2025. The Broncos also posted a program-high 18 victories in both of those seasons. Santa Clara returns 15 student-athletes from last year's team and welcomes four incoming freshmen in 2026.
Â
The Broncos' 2026 season kicks off on Feb. 20 with two matches across town at San Jose State, first facing the host Spartans before taking on WCC foe San Francisco. They'll face the Dons again the next day back home at the Santa Clara Beach Volleyball Courts while also hosting Pacific in a two-match day on Feb. 21.
