Men's Basketball Trio Earns NABC All-District Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Santa Clara men's basketball's Christian Hammond, Allen Graves and Elijah Mahi have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District Teams for the Pacific District, as voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I. Hammond is a first team selection while Graves and Mahi are both on the second team. The three honorees are the Broncos' most in program history.

Hammond received a spot on the 10-man first team after ranking fifth in the West Coast Conference in scoring (15.8). The Denver native has scored in double figures a team-best 27 times with ten games of 20 points or more. He had a career-high 27 points against Nevada, 25 points in the home victory over Saint Mary's on Jan. 17, and most recently logged 24 points in the Credit Union 1 WCC Championship title game against Gonzaga. Hammond averaged 15.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the Broncos' three-game run to the title game in Las Vegas. He is the first Bronco to garner first team all-district honors since Brandin Podziemski in 2022-23.

Graves and Mahi, who both were All-WCC First Team selections alongside Hammond, are both on the 10-man all-district second team. Graves, the WCC's Freshman and Sixth Man of the Year, is averaging 11.6 points, a team-best 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. He recently took home WCC Championship All-Tournament honors after averaging 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks over the three games in Las Vegas. The Ponchatoula, La., product has logged a total of 25 double-figure scoring outings, ranks first among freshmen nationally in total steals (67) and took home WCC Freshman of the Week honors a program-record six times this season.

Mahi, a senior from Toronto, also has 25 double-figure scoring efforts on the season, including a career-high 30 points on the road against rival San Francisco on Feb. 21. The forward is second on the team in scoring (13.9) while pulling down 4.7 rebounds to go with 1.4 steals per game. He also had an outstanding stay at the WCC Championship with an average of 13 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals. Included in that total is a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double in the quarterfinal against Pacific, which was the Broncos' first double-double in the WCC Championship since Podziemski in 2023. Mahi was twice named the WCC's Player of the Week and is the only Bronco to start all 34 games this season.

This is the fourth time over the last five seasons that at least one Bronco has earned NABC All-District honors and the first time since 1984-85 that multiple players have been honored.

Santa Clara is set to begin their run at the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament on Friday, March 20, at 9:15 a.m. PT as the 10-seeded Broncos take on 7-seed Kentucky in the first round in St. Louis, Mo.
