SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Santa Clara University women's beach volleyball team swept San Jose State, 5-0, for the second time in 2026 Friday, taking down the Spartans, 5-0, at Spartan Beach in the teams' third meeting of the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Santa Clara (10-7) took the first three courts in straight sets before completing the dual with a pair of three-set victories over San Jose State (7-8) on courts one and three.
- Avery Cukjati and Teagan Wilson put the Broncos on the board first with a 21-16, 21-16, win over Randi Reeves and Rio Thomas at No. 2. Ciara Cantlen and Alexandra Urbina followed with a 21-16, 28-26 victory over Addison DeMarse and Kaia Fanshier at No. 4, and Tyler Parouse and Ava Stoddard made it 3-0 with a 21-19, 21-13 win against Kylee Moore and Sophia Torres at No. 5.
- Santa Clara completed the sweep with two more wins in three sets. At No. 1, Sadie Snipes and Sammy Wood defeated Grace Baker and Mia Scheepens, 21-17, 18-21, 15-13. Mandy Hansen and Noelle Niederman closed out the scoring at No. 3, topping Sabrina Moore and Anna Salmon, 22-20, 19-21, 15-12.
- Kawena Chillingworth and Hayley Hahn also competed on court six against Aubrey McBride and Jordan Hickerson.
