SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis was recognized by the Tennis Recruiting Network as having one of the
best mid-major recruiting classes in the nation landing at No. 19.
The 2026 class is comprised of five-star Sofia de Looze and four-star Ashley Kurizaki with 9.32 and 9.15 UTRs, respectively, and is the program's first top-25 mid-major recruiting class since 2020 and the highest since 2015.
De Looze who was bumped up to a five-star since her
signing last fall is currently ranked No. 52 nationally by TRN and the top ranked player in the state of Washington.
Kurizaki is ranked No. 80 overall and is the
top player in Hawai'i.
The Broncos are one of two West Coast Conference programs along with San Diego to be part of the top-25 class as TRN solicited the help of a number of college tennis coaching in coming up with the rankings.
The mid-major rankings in tennis include all colleges in all divisions except for those in the so-called "power" conferences - the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Ivy League, and SEC.
As is TRN's policy, the ranking does not consider incoming transfer students or players who competed for college teams in 2025-26.
