Softball Signs Versatile Junior College Transfer

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara softball announced the signing of Emily Azemar, a junior college transfer from Consumnes River College in Sacramento, California.

"Emily is an exciting addition to the Santa Clara softball program," said Broncos head coach Gina Carbonatto.  "As an athletic catcher and first baseman, she brings versatility, experience, and a high ceiling to our outstanding team.  Emily has all the tools to make an immediate impact while continuing to develop into a high-level player.  Her potential for growth is exceptional, and we're excited to see what she'll accomplish at Santa Clara."

The Elk Grove, California native will have two years of eligibility remaining after playing a pair of seasons for the Hawkeyes.

As a freshman in 2025, the right-handed hitting Azemar batted .275, going 33-for-120, with 10 of the hits going for extra bases and drove in 30 runs. That season she earned Second Team All-Conference honors.

In her second campaign this spring, she batted .315 with a .386 on-base percentage. She was named All-Conference honorable mention as well as to the All-State Tournament team.

"I chose Santa Clara because having the opportunity to receive an education and play for such an amazing school is something I've always dreamed of. With all the resources Santa Clara has to offer and the supportive coaching staff, I know I will have the tools for future success after college," said Azemar.
