AT SANTA CLARA: An ever-improving four-year veteran of the program who earned all-conference and national accolades during his career as the Broncos' everyday left fielder ... Played in over 160 games (161) and made 141 starts -- 135 of those in left field ... Named All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention in 2023 and Preseason all-WCC in 2024 ... Won two WCC Player of the Week awards during his senior season (2024). Also added an NCBWA Dick Howser Trophy National Hitter of the Week award that same season ... Finished his career with 57 stolen bases, ninth-most all-time at Santa Clara, and 12 triples, tied for fifth-most all-time ... Batted .283 with 53 extra-base hits (29 doubles, 12 triples, 12 home runs), 111 runs scored, 85 walks,  69 RBIs, and carried a .406 on-base percentage during his career.
AS A SENIOR (2024): Named to the Preseason All-WCC Team ... Named Preseason All-Conference by Perfect Game ... Earned WCC Player of the Week awards in each of the first two weeks of the season (Feb. 19 & 26) after he started the year on fire ... He hit .464, had a .545 on-base percentage and slugged 1.143 with five home runs, four doubles, 18 RBIs and four stolen bases through the first two weeks of the year ... Also added a NCBWA National Hitter of the Week award for the opening week (Feb. 20) ... Played in and started 38 games as the everyday left fielder (33 starts in LF, five at DH) ... Had a season full of career bests with a .327 batting average, .448 on-base percentage, .627 slugging percentage, nine home runs, 12 doubles, 28 RBIs, 41 runs scored and 29 walks ... Also stole 15 bases and hit three triples ... Had 13 multi-hit games (fourth on the team) and eight multi-RBI games (second on the team) ... Began the year on a 22-game reached safely streak (Feb. 16 to March 28), which extended to 24 consecutive games when including the last two games of 2023 in which he reached safely ... Had a season-high nine-game hitting streak from March 1-17, in which he hit .317 with a .429 on-base percentage, two doubles, a triple, 11 runs scored, six stolen bases and an RBI ... Hit two home runs in two different games at Arizona State (Feb. 16 & 18) to surpass his career home runs total entering the year (3) on Opening Weekend ... Hit a game-winning, walk-off grand slam with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the ninth to complete the Broncos' 10-9 comeback win and finish a sweep of UMBC (Feb. 25). Went 4 for 6 with the grand slam, two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored in that game ... Also had four hits in a 4-for-4 performance versus San Jose State (April 2), including three runs scored, a double, a walk and a stolen base ... Drove in a career high six RBIs at Arizona State (Feb. 18).
AS A JUNIOR (2023): All-WCC honorable mention … Started 54 games, all in left field … Hit .315/.416/.419 … Had one home run, four triples and 10 doubles … Drove in 24 RBIs and scored 33 runs … Drew 28 walks and was hit by pitch seven times … Went 16 for 23 in stolen bases … Led the team in triples (4) … 17 multi-hit games … Had three hits and three RBIs vs. Washington (Feb. 19) … Had three hits at UC San Diego (March 3) … Scored three runs at UC San Diego (March 5) … had three hits vs. Villanova (March 12) … had three hits and two RBIs at Saint Mary’s (March 18) … had three hits and two RBIs vs. San Diego (March 24) … had four hits vs. Pacific (April 6) … had three hits at Washington State (April 21) … had three hits vs. San Francisco (May 6) … had three hits vs. Gonzaga (May 19).
AS A SOPHOMORE (2022): Appeared in 47 games and started 42 … 41 starts in LF, one in CF … led the team in triples, SB, SBA, and HBP … hit .217/.380/.363 in 157 AB … 34 hits with seven doubles, five triples and two home runs … Scored 35 runs, drove in 16 RBIs … Drew 26 walks and was hit by a pitch 16 times … 19-for-24 in stolen bases … .976 fielding percentage … scored three runs and stole two bases vs. Northwestern (Feb. 25) … had three hits, including two triples, and scored two runs vs. UC San Diego (March 6) … had two RBIs at Texas A&M (March 12) … hit a home run and had 2 RBIs vs. San Jose State (March 22) … had a double and an RBI vs. LMU (March 25) … had a double and home run to go with 2 runs scored vs. LMU (March 26) … scored 4 runs, took 3 walks, had two stolen bases, and had an RBI at Pacific (April 3) … had two hits at BYU (April 7) … was 2 for 3 with a triple, three RBIs, a run scored, and a stolen base vs. Saint Mary’s (April 14) … had two hits, a run scored, and an RBI vs. Saint Mary’s (April 16) … scored two runs at San Jose State (April 19) … had two hits and a run scored vs. Pepperdine (April 23) … scored two runs vs. Pepperdine (April 24) … scored 2 runs vs. Portland (May 8) … had two RBIs and a double at Gonzaga (May 14).
AS A FRESHMAN (2021): Played in 22 games, starting in seven ... all seven starts came at left field ... second on the team in stolens bases with seven (in nine attempts)Â ... went 5 for 28 at the plate ... first career hit came as a pinch-hitter against Sacramento State (March 7) ... drove in first career run against San Francisco (May 29).
PRIOR TO SCU: Graduated from Palma High in Salinas, Calif., in 2020 ... two-sport athlete who also played wide receiver and defensive back for the Chieftain football team ... three-time captain on the diamond ... hit .343 with a .438 on-base percentage while swiping 16 bases during his sophomore and junior seasons ... he was named the team's most valuable player his junior season ... on the gridiron, he scored 21 touchdowns and hauled in 53 passes for 831 yards in three seasons while adding another 732 yards on the ground ... played for Norcal baseball club.
PERSONAL: Parents are Jason Berring and Joy Suber ... has an older brother, Jason Jr., and younger sibling Joshelland ... cousin, J.J. Sherrill, played for the Cleveland organization ... uncle, Marcus Suber, played football at Akron ... enjoys cars and photography. Â
