Box Score

SANTA CLARA, Calif.– Santa Clara women's soccer scored early and often, coming away with a convincing 5-0 victory over Utah Valley Sunday afternoon at home.

The Broncos (3-3) dominated from the opening whistle, scoring a season-high five goals while outshooting the Wolverines (2-4) 22-7 and 11-3 in shots on frame. They also collected nine corner kicks while not allowing any.

Kelsey Turnbow was the offensive star of the match, scoring two goals and adding two assists as well. Santa Clara also got goals from Izzy D'Aquila, her team-leading sixth, Machaela George, and the first career tally from Kaitlyn Parcell. The first goal came in the third minute when George started a play with a pass to Turnbow who found D'Aquila in the box and her shot just snuck past the goal line.

Turnbow also set up the second of the day in the 25th off of a corner. She found the head of Loera who connected with George for a volley into the top of the net that made it 2-0.

Turnbow would score the next two for Santa Clara. In the 52nd minute, she dribbled through the box and connected far post to make it 3-0 before adding another in the 64th helped by Loera and Goor.

The final tally came from redshirt junior Kaitlyn Parcel who took a long pass from Sweeney inside the 18-yard box and chested it down before hitting it inside the right post for the first of her career.
