OGDEN, Utah - In their first of two battles in the beehive state, the Santa Clara men's tennis team (11-8) were only able to get one point on the board before the match was clinched by Weber State.

The match did indeed get off to a good start in doubles play as the duo of Jack Pulliam and Matthew Rodriguez took down Sebastian Buxman and Matteo Savio 6-2. The other two duels did not prove to be as successful as Weber State (11-7) took the doubles point although the match that finished last did come down to a tiebreak set.

Singles competition did not begin as well as Arthur Neuhaus fell to Tristan Sarap 6-3, 6-2. A win for the Broncos quickly followed as Pulliam, coming off an integral singles win in Santa Clara's victory over #65 Gonzaga, came away with a win over Weber State's William Zulch 6-1, 6-2.

The match that finished next would be a loss for the Broncos as the Wildcat Matteo Savio took down Nick Cmager 6-4, 6-2. The match would then be clinched on court one by Sebastian Buxman as Guillaume Dalmasso lost his match 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

The Broncos stay in state and head down to Provo to face BYU in a West Coast Conference match on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT.
