SANTA CLARA, CALIF. - The Santa Clara women's volleyball team swept the Saint Mary's Gaels 3-0 on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Leavey Center. The Broncos were led by
Elena Radeff, who matched a career high 20 kills, hitting .390.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Broncos (9-16, 5-11) scored four in a row to take a 5-2 lead to open the first set after Elena's Radeff fourth kill of the game, and later 10-5 after a kill from Oren Abutbul. The Broncos hit an astonishing .500 as a team through their first 10 points.
- A kill by Tia Kapihe capped a three point rally to put the Broncos up 17-7 and back-to-back kills from Abutbul put the Broncos up 22-14. A kill by Radeff gave the Broncos set one, 25-17.
- Saint Mary's (9-15, 5-10) took a 13-10 lead in set two, but Santa Clara scored four points in a row to take a 14-13 lead after a kill by Kapihe. A kill by Layla Truitt put the Broncos up 21-19, but three straight points from Saint Mary's put them up 22-21, forcing a Broncos timeout. A kill by Elena Radef capped a three point Broncos spurt to put them ahead 24-22, and a kill by Kapihe capped off a 25-23 second set victory for the Broncos.
- The Broncos opened up set three with a 6-3 lead thanks to multiple attacking errors from the Gaels. The Broncos rattled off nine points in a row to take a 21-12 lead after another kill from Abutbul, and never looked back, taking set three 25-16 with Radeff's career tying 20th kill.
NOTABLE NUMBERS:
- Elena Radeff tied a career high 20 kills.
- Oren Abutbul added 12 kills, her 11th game of the season in double figures and second straight.
- Macy Hinshaw tallied her eighth double-double of the season with 22 assists and 13 digs.
