SANTA CLARA, CALIF. - The Santa Clara women's volleyball team swept the Gonzaga Bulldogs 3-0 on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Leavey Center to conclude the 2024 volleyball season. The Broncos were led by
Elena Radeff, who finished with 18 kills, hitting a career high .630.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Broncos (11-16, 7-11) jumped out to an early 6-2 lead to open the first set after back-to-back aces from Alayna Crabtree. Gonzaga (1-26, 0-17) fought back, tying the set at 9, but three straight kills from Elena Radeff put the Broncos back ahead. Three Broncos points in a row extended the lead to 19-13, and later 22-14. A kill from Radeff made it 24-16, and a kill by Oren Abutbul gave the Broncos the first set 25-18.
- The second set went back-and-forth until three straight points from the Broncos put them ahead 13-10 after a kill from Grace Flanagan. The Broncos scored four in a row to go up 19-13 after an ace from Lexi Trapani. Back-to-back kills from Radeff made it 24-16, and another Radeff kill gave the Broncos set two, 25-17.
- The Broncos scored five of six points to take a 7-4 lead to open set three. Five straight Broncos points made it 17-9 after a kill from Alayna Crabtree. Gonzaga cut it to 17-13, but the Broncos scored six in a row, going ahead 24-14 after a kill from Lauren Grover. The Bulldogs scored the next two, but a service error from the visitors gave the Broncos the set 25-17, and the 3-0 sweep.
NOTABLE NUMBERS:
- Elena Radeff led the Broncos in kills for the sixth straight game with 18, hitting a career high .630.
- Oren Abutbul added 13 kills in her final game of her career, her 12th game of the season in double figures.
- Nive Tuileta led the Broncos with 23 assists, finishing with 3,750 assists in her SCU career, which ranks seventh most all-time at Santa Clara.
- The Broncos honored five seniors: Lauren Grover, Alayna Crabtree, Lauren Lietzke, Oren Abutbul, and Nive Tuileta in their senior day ceremony concluding the match.
- The Broncos finished the year with three straight wins, ending the season 11-16 overall.
