SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - For the first time in her career, Santa Clara women's volleyball redshirt junior
Elena Radeff was named the West Coast Conference Credit Union 1 Offensive Player of the Week, as awarded by the conference on
Monday.
Radeff had two huge performances this past week, propelling the Broncos to two crucial WCC wins. On Wednesday, the opposite hitter tallied a then-season high 18 kills (avg. 4.5 per set) in a 3-1 victory at San Francisco. Three days later, she topped that kill count with a career high-tying 20 kills (avg. 6.67 per set) in a sweep over Saint Mary's on Saturday inside the Leavey Center. Saturday's contest marked the fifth straight game Radeff led the Broncos in kills. She hit .390 against the Gaels,, the eighth time this season she's hit .375 or above. Her 38 combined kills through the two games also matched a career best.
"It is great to see the recognition of Elena's offensive production for our team," Broncos head coach
Erin Lindsey said. "She has been working hard throughout the season and has been a force to be reckoned these past few weeks."
The award was the first weekly honor that the Broncos have won this season.
