Box Score SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball fell to Portland 81-54 Saturday afternoon at home. The Broncos (7-6, 1-2 WCC) fell behind in a tough second quarter and the Pilots (14-0, 3-0 WCC) were able to keep the pressure up to come out of Leavey Center with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Santa Clara scored seven in a row early in the first to get an early lead, but Portland came back with the next six and went on an 11-2 run to take a 13-9 lead. It was a 17-15 lead for the Pilots after one period.
- After the Broncos cut the deficit to one, Portland took over the quarter, finishing on a 16-4 run that included a stretch of 10-0. The Pilots led 36-23 at the half.
- Santa Clara struggled shooting the ball for most of the third quarter, starting 2-of-12, while Portland went 12-of-19 and hit their first four 3-pointers to stretch the lead out to 67-36.
- The Broncos found a little bit of offensive rhythm in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough.

NOTABLE NUMBERS:
- Â Santa Clara shot 34.3-percent from the field but struggled from beyond the arc at just 2-of-14.
- Portland shot the ball at 50.8-percent and was 10-for-24 from downtown.
- Olivia Pollerd scored 15 on 7-of-15 shooting while adding four rebounds. Georgia Grigoropoulou had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Alana Goodchild scored nine on 4-of-6 shooting.
- Alexis Mark and Lainey Spear both scored 14 to lead the Pilots. Mark also had a game-high 13 rebounds for the double-double. Emme Shearer was also in double-figures with 12 points.

- Â Pollerd pulled within 12 points of 1,000 for her college career and 19 for 1,000 at Santa Clara.
