MILLBRAE, Calif. - Santa Clara ended the first day of the Silicon Valley Showcase in fifth position, just five strokes behind fourth place. Audrey Brust paved the way for her fellow Broncos, and turned in a 5-over 147. Pepperdine held a solid lead throughout the day posting a team 2-over 570 even as the wind and damp conditions proved to be difficult for the other participants. 

• Brust stood out in the first 18 as she finished the first round at par with four birdies. This gave her a tied-fifth spot to start the SVS. 

• Patricia Garre-Munoz and Maddie Wu both started off 3-over 74 in the first round. 

• Three of the Broncos completed day two tied at 26th shooting a 12-over 154. Those three are Lauren Shew, Wu, and Meva Schmit. 

• Pepperdine's Jeneath Wong showed her consistency by shooting a 3-under 68 in both rounds today, which has given her the lead.
