SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Beach volleyball saw a split on the first day in San Luis Obispo, securing a 4-1 victory against Pacific but narrowly falling short in a tight 2-3 battle against UC Davis. Both pairs, Katie Kishton and Elena Radeff, as well as Alexie Epstein and Alexandra Urbina, remained undefeated after the first day.

vs. Pacific 

Santa Clara handled the conference opponent, defeating Pacific 4-1. The match was solidified by Epstein and Urbina who defeated Mia Rossman and Juliana Alexander 21-10, 21-12. 

vs. UC Davis

The Broncos initially trailed 2-0 in the duel until Kishton/Radeff defeated Colleen McGuire/Kylie Miller of Davis 21-18, 21-19. Despite the Aggies securing the win at 3-1, Epstein/Urbina fought through a three-set battle, bringing the duel to 3-2 in favor of the Aggies.
