SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara beach swept USF in the first home match of the season. Using the home court advantage, the Broncos (6-15) found wins in each slot of the lineup, two of which finished in two sets. This proved to be the second sweep for the Broncos.
vs. USF (8-13)
The Broncos started off with a win in the first slot, where Elena Radeff and Katie Kishton took the first set off Letizia Aquilino and Moorea Wood, winning 21-10. They closed out the second set with a score of 21-14. The second pair to finish was the duo of Ella Duffner and Casey Campbell, who secured the win in three sets: 22-20, 18-21, 15-10. In the two slot were the freshmen pair of Sveva Munneke and Noelle Neiderman, who took their match to a third set and won with a score of 15-8, securing the overall win for the duel. Jordan Bennett and Hailey Benesz finished second to last, easily closing out their match with scores of 21-13, 21-16 in the fours. To close out the sweep and the duel, Alexie Epstein and Alexandra Urbina defeated Chessy Stanschus and Alina Inzunza in two sets, with scores of 21-18 and 21-11.
