SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Santa Clara beach volleyball advances to day two of the West Coast Conference Championship with two separate wins over USF, both 4-1. After winning the first dual of the day, the Broncos advanced to take on No. 9 LMU. The Lions were able to take it in straight sets, moving the Broncos to the contenders bracket. As they were not done yet, Santa Clara took the fourth win over the Dons this season.
vs. USF (10-19)
Santa Clara started the WCC Championship with a 4-1 win over the Dons, winning at the one, two, four and five slots. Closing out the first pair win was Elena Radeff and Katie Kishton at the ones, with a final score of 21-17, 21-12. The freshman duo, Noelle Niederman and Sveva Munnkeke, clinched the dual as the third Bronco pair to finish. The final score on the twos court was 21-19, 21-13.
vs. #9 LMU (25-13)
The Broncos battled against the nationally ranked Lions, but came up short in all five slots. Noelle Niederman and Sveva Munneke didn't go down easy at the two slot, finishing last with a second set score 17-21.
vs. USF (11-20)
For the fourth time this season, the Broncos took the win over the Dons. The first pair to secure a win for Santa Clara was again the Radeff/Kishton duo at the ones pair. The final score was 21-17, 21-15. Following them was Jordan Bennett and Casey Campbell who took the win 21-12, 21-15 at the threes. To secure the advancement in the WCC Championship, it was Alexie Epstein and Alexandra Urbina who took a third set battle with scores at 21-14, 16-21, 15-12.
