STOCKTON, Calif. – Redshirt freshman Mahir Khurana opened play for the Santa Clara men's tennis team with two qualifying round matches at the ITA Regional Championships on Thursday.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• In the first match of the day, Khurana defeated Sacramento State's John Powell in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.  He then dropped his next match to Portland's Lucas Kimelman 6-1, 6-3.
