LIHU'E, Hawaii - Santa Clara men's golf notched a top three finish at the John Burns Intercollegiate, wrapping up the tournament with a 3-under 270 in Saturday's final round to finish the event 10-under 282-70-277--830 overall. Three individuals finished inside the top-20 led by freshman Matt Robles, who turned in a 4-under 66 in the final round to move into a six-way tie for eighth at 4-under 206.

ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:

• Santa Clara defeated five teams head-to-head that were ranked inside the top 40 of the Scoreboard rankings - No. 10 Illinois, No. 20 San Diego State, No. 21 BYU, No. 26 Texas A&M and No. 39 Long Beach State.
• Robles shot a 4-under 66 and climbed up 16 spots on the final day to notch his third top-10 finish of the season. The freshman was bogey-free with two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 No. 10.
• Calder Overfelt logged his fifth top-20 finish of the year with a tie for 14th at 3-under 70-67-70--207. 
• Emil Nielsen was unable to hold on to his spot inside the top three, but still finished in a tie for 20th at 1-under 67-67-75--209 - his second-best finish of the season.
• J.P. Odland tied for 45th at 2-over 214 while Alvaro Muller carded his best round of the tournament with a 1-under 69 to climb 18 spots into a tie for 74th. 
• Utah and UNLV tied for team title at 22-under 818 while Gabriel Palacios (Utah) and Zach Little (UNLV) tied for medalist honors at 11-under 199.
